Choosing Your Villa: Ridge or Overwater
Telunas Private Island has two very different couples-friendly options, and it is worth deciding between them before you book. If total privacy is the point, the adults-only (18+) Ridge Villas are built for exactly that: five villas only, on the ridge overlooking the sea, each with its own plunge pool and breakfast served in your own outdoor lounge. If you would rather have the resort's shared spaces close by, the Overwater Villas are the better fit. Those shared spaces, the Grand Lodge and the Poolside Bar, also welcome families staying in the Overwater Villas. Ridge Villas guests can use them too, whenever they want company.

Breakfast served in your own outdoor lounge. About a 5 to 10 minute uphill walk from the jetty, which the resort describes as needing a moderate level of fitness. The villas themselves are set apart on the ridge, well away from the overwater rooms, but this is not a couples-only island: the wider Private Island common areas, including the Grand Lodge and the Poolside Bar, are shared with families staying in the Overwater Villas.

The Journey: Part of the Slow-Down
Getting to Telunas is roughly 2.5 hours in total, and you are not doing it alone. Book the recommended 10:00am Sindo Ferry from Singapore's Harbourfront Centre Ferry Terminal to Sekupang, Batam. It is an approximately 60-minute crossing; most guests land around 10:00 to 10:10am Batam time, one hour behind Singapore. The Telunas team, in blue polo shirts, meets you at Sekupang and guides the rest of the way: a short 5-minute walk, then about 20 minutes of domestic terminal transit. From there, a further 60-minute boat ride carries you through the Riau Archipelago to Telunas.

Entry rules are worth checking yourself before you book, since they change from time to time and a reader can be denied boarding over them. Sindo Ferry's own visa information states a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your entry date, and that Singapore passport holders currently enter Indonesia visa-free for short leisure stays, alongside several other nationalities. Indonesia's own Directorate General of Immigration publishes the current national list; confirm your own passport's status there rather than relying on this article alone.
What's Included, and What to Book Ahead
Scheduled activities on Private Island are included at no extra charge: sea kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, a nature walk, and specials such as an evening bonfire, mangrove planting and island hopping when they fall on your week's roster. Your host shares the full week's schedule on arrival, and none of it needs booking ahead.
One thing couples often add is not part of the room rate: the Overwater Spa Massage is billed separately, and advance booking is recommended since onsite availability depends on staffing. A private Candlelight Dinner for two works the same way, an additional-charge extra that Telunas asks you to request 2 to 3 days ahead, so it is worth booking when you reserve your villa rather than once you arrive.
Deciding When to Go
There are only five Ridge Villas on the whole property, against fifteen Overwater Villas, so Ridge Villas tends to book out further ahead. If privacy is the reason you are considering this trip at all, decide on Ridge Villas early rather than leaving it to the last minute.
Check-in at Telunas is 2:00pm, with lunch served as soon as you arrive, so your first afternoon is already unhurried. Your return journey has two options. The normal departure leaves Telunas at 1:15pm for an approximately 3:20pm ferry from Sekupang to Singapore. An early departure leaves Telunas at 8:15am for an approximately 11:20am ferry, if you would rather have a fuller day back in Singapore. Either way, confirm the current schedule with your host before you book.

That is market context, not a reason to pick particular dates. Since the journey itself takes half a day each way, a stay of a few nights makes better use of the time than a single overnight would.
