3-Day School Holiday Itinerary at Telunas Resorts

Morning: Book the 10:00am Sindo Ferry from Harbourfront Centre Ferry Terminal to Sekupang, Batam, an approximately 60-minute crossing that lands most guests around 10:00 to 10:10am Batam time, one hour behind Singapore. Every traveler must complete Indonesia's arrival card in the All Indonesia app before landing, doable from 72 hours before you travel; do it before the terminal, not at it.

Transfer: The Telunas team, in blue polo shirts, meets you at Sekupang. They guide a short 5-minute walk plus about 20 minutes of domestic terminal transit, then a further 60-minute boat ride through the Riau Archipelago to the resort. Door to door, the whole journey runs approximately 2.5 hours, and the team is with you for the transfer and boat legs, not navigating alone with children in tow.

Afternoon: Lunch is served on arrival, and check-in follows at 2:00pm. Sea kayaking and beach games run daily and need no booking, so the rest of the afternoon is free for the water or the sand.

Evening: Dinner is a buffet-style, family meal served in the resort's open-sided dining pavilion, with kid-friendly options alongside the local and international spread.

Morning: The Low Ropes Course is kid-height and fully guided, a good first activity for mixed ages. If the Jungle Waterfall Hike is on that week's roster, it's a 10km hike through secondary rainforest to a waterfall pool, better suited to older children; ask your host what's scheduled when you arrive.

Midday: Try the Pottery Lesson, or let the kids cast a line from the jetty: whatever they catch, the chef cooks it for lunch or dinner at no extra charge.

Afternoon: Beach games, stand-up paddleboarding, or, roster permitting, Mangrove Planting or Island Hopping by traditional wooden boat.

Evening: Movie Night is a regular fixture on the rotating roster, popcorn included. At Private Island, an Evening Bonfire is the equivalent, when it falls on the schedule.

If it rains: Not every activity depends on clear skies. The Pottery Lesson runs at the covered Ceramics studio, so a shower on Day 2 does not have to change those plans; check with your host on the day for which other roster activities move under cover.

Morning: One more roster activity before you go, traditional hand-line fishing from the jetty or a craft session such as wood slice painting are both low-key enough for a departure morning.

Departure: Standard check-out is 11:00am. Most families take the Normal Departure: leave Telunas at 1:15pm on the local ferry to Sekupang, connecting to the approximately 3:20pm Sekupang-to-Singapore ferry, so there is time after check-out for one last activity. Families wanting more of the day back home can take the Early Departure instead, leaving Telunas around 8:15am for an approximately 11:20am ferry from Sekupang. Either way, confirm the current schedule and check-out arrangements with your host before you book the return.
