3-Day Trip from Singapore: Romantic Short Getaway Itinerary

Updated September 2026|Romance

Three days, two nights, one island. Here is a day-by-day plan for a romantic short getaway from Singapore to Telunas Private Island, built around the adults-only Ridge Villas: the journey there and back, what each day includes, and what is worth booking ahead. If you are still deciding between resorts and rooms, our short getaway planning guide covers that first.

At a Glance

  1. Day 1, arrival: the ferry and boat journey via Batam, then lunch, check-in and dinner at Telunas.
  2. Day 2, a full day: daily included activities, your villa or an optional massage, and a roster-permitting evening bonfire.
  3. Day 3, departure: breakfast at the villa, one more activity, then the journey back to Singapore.

Before You Go

A short lead time is enough to plan around. Every traveler into Indonesia must submit an arrival card in the All Indonesia app. This can be done from 72 hours before you arrive. Do this before you travel, not at the terminal (see the step-by-step guide for exactly what to enter).

Singapore citizens get a free 30-day visa on arrival in Batam. Singapore permanent residents travelling on an NRIC can enter visa-free for up to 4 days. Full detail specific to Telunas guests is on the pre-arrival information guide, and Indonesia's Directorate General of Immigration publishes the current national entry-requirement rules. Check-in at Telunas is 2:00pm and check-out is 9:00am, which the plan below is built around.

This plan does not need a long booking runway. Most of what you need to arrange, the arrival card, the ferry, the room, can be sorted inside a week or two. If you are weighing whether three days, two nights is the right length for your own calendar rather than a single overnight, see the first question in the FAQ below.

Day 1: Arrival

Morning: The Journey via Batam
Book the recommended 10:00am Sindo Ferry from Harbourfront Centre Ferry Terminal to Sekupang, Batam. It is an approximately 60-minute crossing. Most guests land in Sekupang around 10:00 to 10:10am Batam time, one hour behind Singapore. The Telunas team, in blue polo shirts, is waiting for you at Sekupang and guides you the rest of the way: a short 5-minute walk, then about 20 minutes of domestic terminal transit. From there, a further 60-minute boat ride carries you through the Riau Archipelago to Telunas. The whole journey, ferry to boat, runs approximately 2.5 hours, and you are with the Telunas team for the transfer and boat legs, not navigating alone.
Afternoon: Lunch and Check-In
Lunch is served as soon as you arrive at Telunas, and check-in follows at 2:00pm. For Ridge Villas, reaching the villa itself takes a short uphill walk, about 5 to 10 minutes, and needs a moderate level of fitness. Once you are in, the private plunge pool and outdoor living area are yours for the rest of the stay, and breakfast will be brought there each morning from tomorrow.
Evening: Dinner at the Grand Lodge
Dinner is a three-course meal with a choice of entrées, served at the Grand Lodge with a view across the sea, included as part of your stay. If you would rather mark the first night with something more private, a Candlelight Dinner for two can be arranged as an additional-charge extra. Telunas asks for 2 to 3 days' notice, so it is worth requesting when you book rather than once you arrive.

Day 2: A Full Day at the Resort

Morning: On the Water
Sea kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding run daily and are included at no extra charge, along with the resort's guided nature walk and the freshwater infinity pool if you would rather stay out of the sea. None of it needs booking ahead; your host shares the week's full activity schedule on arrival, so this first full morning is also the moment to ask what else is on the roster during your stay, from a village tour to a pottery lesson.
Afternoon: Your Villa, or an Optional Massage
The private plunge pool is the obvious way to spend a quiet afternoon. If you would rather book a treatment, the Overwater Spa Massage is available in 60 or 90-minute sessions in an open-air pavilion; it is an additional-charge experience and advance booking is recommended, since onsite availability depends on staffing. See Overwater Spa Massage for current rates.
Evening: Bonfire, Roster Permitting
An evening bonfire is a regular fixture on Private Island's rotating activity roster, complimentary when it is scheduled during your stay; ask your host whether it falls on your second night. Away from Singapore's light pollution, it is a genuinely dark sky.

Day 3: One More Morning, Then Home

Morning: Breakfast, Then a Last Activity
Breakfast is served at your Ridge Villa, in your outdoor lounge area, before the day gets going. Check-out is 9:00am, but the standard return journey does not begin until early afternoon, so there is real time left. If Island Hopping is on that week's roster, it is a traditional wooden boat tour of the nearby islands and, per the resort's own note, best done in the morning. Mangrove Planting and a Local Village Tour are the other roster activities that suit this last morning, availability depending on the week.
Afternoon: The Journey Back to Singapore
The standard departure leaves Telunas at around 1:15pm on the local ferry to Sekupang. That connects to the approximately 3:20pm ferry from Sekupang to Singapore, the same team-guided route in reverse. If you would rather have a fuller day back in Singapore, an early departure leaves Telunas around 8:15am for an approximately 11:20am Sekupang-to-Singapore ferry. Either way, confirm the current schedule with your host before you book your return.

What's Included, and What Isn't

Scheduled activities on the roster, daily and rotating, are included at no extra charge for the length of your stay: sea kayaking, paddleboarding, the nature walk, and specials such as Evening Bonfire, Island Hopping and Mangrove Planting when they are scheduled. A handful of experiences cost extra and need advance booking: the Overwater Spa Massage, the Fishing Boat Adventure, and dining extras such as Candlelight Dinner. The room rate above covers the villa itself. The meal plan and the transfer between Singapore and the resort are required, billed separately from the room, and confirmed at booking. See current rates and reserve Ridge Villas for this itinerary, or explore Overwater Villas if direct water access matters more to you than seclusion.

Three days is enough to feel the pace change: a travel day that is never faced alone, a full day with nothing scheduled but what you choose, and a last morning before the same journey carries you home.

Have a question before you book, or want help picking dates? Get in touch with the Telunas team and we will help you plan around it.

For a Telunas trip, three days and two nights works well: the outbound and return journeys, about 2.5 hours each way via Batam, sit inside the first and last day, leaving one full day in the middle free of travel. Two nights is the minimum we would suggest; a single overnight leaves very little time at the resort once both journeys are counted.
If your trip is built around Telunas, the plan above is it: arrival and check-in on day one, a full day of scheduled activities on day two, and a relaxed morning before departure on day three, with the Telunas team guiding every leg of the journey there and back. We can't speak to itineraries elsewhere in Batam beyond the resort.
For a first trip built around Telunas, the adults-only Ridge Villas at Telunas Private Island are the most private option, each with its own plunge pool and breakfast served at the villa. If direct water access matters more than seclusion, or you might travel with others another time, the Overwater Villas are the better fit.
