The Journey from Singapore: What 2.5 Hours Actually Looks Like
- Ferry to Batam, about 60 minutes: Book the 10:00am Sindo Ferry (Singapore time) from HarbourFront Centre Ferry Terminal to Sekupang Ferry Terminal, the sailing Telunas currently recommends, and check Sindo Ferry's current schedule for your date. Most guests arrive at Sekupang around 10:00 to 10:10am Batam time, which is one hour behind Singapore.
- Complete the arrival card before you travel: every traveller to Indonesia, children included, must submit an arrival declaration in the All Indonesia app or on the official All Indonesia website, any time from three days before your arrival date. You can submit one declaration for the whole family, entering each person's own passport details. This is a requirement of Indonesia's Directorate General of Immigration, not a Telunas policy, and it is separate from a visa, so do it before you leave home rather than at the terminal.
- Terminal transfer at Sekupang: Telunas staff, wearing blue polo shirts, meet you at Sekupang and guide your family from international arrivals to domestic departures, a short 5-minute walk plus about 20 minutes of domestic terminal transit, then travel with you on the onward ferry. Immigration queues and the onward departure time can make this stage longer.
- Boat to Telunas, about 60 minutes: the scenic ride from Sekupang to Telunas runs through the Riau Archipelago. Lunch is served on arrival, with check-in at 2:00pm.

Family Rooms at Each Resort
The two entry-level Beach Resort room tiers share the same family layout, a bed for parents plus a bunk bed for kids, at different sizes and price points. The largest Beach Resort option spreads across three bedrooms plus a loft instead. Private Island's Overwater Villa pairs a king bed with a separate children's loft.

Starting rates are for base occupancy and are shown in your detected currency. They vary by date and room type, and extra-person charges may apply. What's Included, and What Costs Extra
Both resorts run a rotating roster of scheduled activities, and your host shares the week's schedule with you on arrival. Activities requested outside that roster can carry additional charges. Meals are not part of the room rate at either resort: a meal plan is required and billed separately, and transfers are charged separately too.
- On the roster, included: at Beach Resort, sea kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, beach games, a seasonal jungle waterfall hike, mangrove planting, and a kid-height low ropes course. At Private Island, sea kayaking, the freshwater infinity pool, a nature walk, deck jumping, mangrove planting, and an evening bonfire, plus the daily Kampung Kids Club for ages 5 to 10. Rotating items such as mangrove planting and the bonfire depend on that week's roster and conditions.
- Extra charge, book ahead: at both resorts, an overwater or beachside massage, the fishing boat adventure, and a handful of dining experiences including the Candlelight Dinner and the Klepon Cooking Class. Book these before arrival where you can, as onsite requests depend on staffing, boats, tides and weather. Telunas asks for 2 to 3 days' notice before arrival for the Candlelight Dinner, and 2 to 3 days before arrival or at least 2 days onsite for the Klepon Cooking Class.
When to Go: Two Windows Line Up Especially Well
Ferry schedules and room availability can change, so confirm both for your dates before you book. Two Singapore calendar windows line up more easily than the rest. For primary schools, the Ministry of Education 2026 calendar puts the year-end school holiday at Saturday 21 November to Thursday 31 December, as published by schools such as Northland Primary; for other levels, check your child's own school calendar. Deepavali falls on Sunday 8 November 2026, and the Ministry of Manpower lists Monday 9 November as a public holiday if your rest day falls on 8 November, so whether it gives you a long weekend without taking leave depends on your own work schedule.
Telunas has a minimum stay of two nights, and we recommend two to three nights, since the journey itself runs about 2.5 hours each way. Entry Requirements: Visa and the Arrival Card
Singapore citizens, children included, can visit Indonesia as tourists without a visa for up to 30 days, each on their own Singapore passport, and this visa-free stay cannot be extended, according to Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Singapore permanent residents may qualify for a separate 4-day visa-free visit to Batam, Bintan or Karimun through designated checkpoints, Sekupang among them. It is conditional: you travel on your passport with a blue NRIC as proof of PR status, and some nationalities are excluded.
Other passport holders should check the right entry route for their nationality, which may be a Visa on Arrival where it applies, with Indonesia's Directorate General of Immigration before travel.
Ordinary tourists also need a passport valid for at least 6 months from arrival and a return or onward ticket; Telunas's own pre-arrival information page covers what else to prepare.
Separately from any visa, every traveller must complete the All Indonesia arrival declaration, best done before you travel, a requirement set by Indonesia's Directorate General of Immigration, not by Telunas.
