It's kind of a big deal. ## Why Solar Power? One of Telunas' core values is caring for and being a good steward of our environment. Thus far, we have been relying on diesel powered generators to supply all of the power to the resorts. In addition to being expensive, diesel fuel consumption comes with a carbon cost - one we've been eager to reduce. ## Environmental Impact The hybrid solar system has already cut Telunas Private Island's diesel fuel usage by approximately 60 percent since its implementation at the beginning of August. As we continue to work with and fine-tune the system, we anticipate even greater reductions in the months ahead. Telunas is always looking for ways to decrease our carbon footprint. With the installation of the solar panels, we are exploring additional technology to help minimize our power usage - including LED lighting upgrades, energy-efficient appliances, and smarter load management across the resort. This solar initiative is one part of a broader commitment to environmental stewardship at Telunas - alongside our mangrove planting programs, local waste management efforts, and wildlife conservation awareness.
